A new venture!

I've been making and selling jewellery for over a year now and while I really enjoy it I've decided to try something different for a little while.  I started crocheting last year and am loving making amigurumi.  Amigurumi originated in Japan and are crocheted, stuffed toys with very cute faces.  They are part of the Kawaii (cute) type of items and I think that's why I'm drawn to them so much.  I love cute things :-)

The first thing I made was this heart:
But it's not just a normal amigurumi.  This is the first of my 'Karma Creations' - items that have been upcycled/recycled/repurposed from something else.  The idea is that they are reincarnated from their previous existence.  In the case of the heart, it is made from a wool jumper that I unravelled.  I gave it to my OH for Valentines day.

I am listing a few amigurumi items in my Folksy shop today - some Daruma Dolls:

and a little amigurumi creature named A'chu:
That's Buddha Bun getting in on the modelling action.  I think they were discussing waist sizes ;-)
